William Michael "Mike" Spoerl of Wylie, Texas, passed away on February 22, 2023, at the age of 68 peacefully and surrounded by family.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Mike grew up and graduated from North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas. He lived in Mesquite, Texas and worked at James K. Wilson where he met his wife of 48 years Candy Spoerl. They dated for two years and got married on November 16, 1974. Mike transitioned over to working with his new father-in-law Virgil Dean and started learning more about mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repair. Mike became a dad on June 12th, 1975, and his world changed forever. Andrea Nanette Spoerl was the first girl to come along in two generations. Three years later he had a 2nd daughter on May 1,1978. Amanda Rose Spoerl was the 2nd girl to come along in two generations. He was employed by Gallagher Construction for 15 years, and he was working up to his last day. Mike enjoyed being with is great grandkids, enjoyed family vacations, and just getting in the car for a road trip.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Patsy Spoerl; his father and mother in-law, Virgil and Rosie Dean; his grandparents, Jack and Lila Dean Morton, Wm. Alvin Spoerl, Sr. and Myrtle Spoerl; and his grandson, Richard Michael Ortega.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Candy Spoerl; his daughters, brothers, and sisters-in law; Andrea Spoerl, Amanda Spoerl, Frank Rosas, Gary and Jill Spoerl, Danny and Tami Spoerl, Rusty and Dawne Spoerl and Aunt Carole Morton. In addition, he has 3 grandchildren; Haleigh Rose Ortega, Madison Paige Ortega, Richard Michael Ortega. He also has 3 great-grandchildren; Izabella Rose Ortega, Scarlette Rose Coggins, Alice Rose Luevano and several nieces and nephews.
