Kirk Allan Luehrs

It is with great sadness that the Luehrs family announces the death of Kirk Allan Luehrs who passed away peacefully on August 1, 2022 at the age of 81. Kirk died of natural causes. Kirk was a beloved son, sibling, husband, father, relative, friend and brother in arms to his ship mates in the United States Navy. He was an immensely powerful, thoughtful and caring person who loved his family, friends, his God and Country. Kirk was born on March 23, 1941 to his beloved parent’s Wilma and Herbert Luehrs, in Ontario, Oregon. He was a talented artist & writer who worked in advertising and had a successful comic strip the Oregonian of newspapers. He attended the University of Washington and Mount Angel University, before joining the US Navy where he served with distinction on the USS Hancock. He served seven tours in Vietnam, including on board and in country. He was active in his community and had many hobbies. He is survived by his beloved wife Lolita Luehrs, his cherished daughter Glenna Luehrs and her fiancé Kasey Malcolm. His sister Suzanne Warnes, niece Cecelia Cornish, and nephew Kenneth Warnes. He will be loved and remembered forever by all who knew him. The Funeral Service is Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the New Hope Funeral Home - Chapel - 500 East Hwy 80 Sunnyvale, TX 75182 972.226. 2111. Interment will be Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1:15 PM - 1:30 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75211.
