Bryan Ranes passed away at home on January 15, 2023 in Mesquite, Texas, after his battle with cancer at the age of 57.

Bryan was born December 22, 1965 in Dallas, Texas, to Rafel and Margie Ranes. He grew up in Mesquite with his parents and his brother, Steven Ranes. His children, Kristin and Clayton, whom he had with Tammy Ranes, blessed him with grandchildren who called him Papa Bryan.

As a perfectionist with good craftsmanship, he worked in the construction industry. You could call him self-employed, since no matter who he worked for, he would arrive on his own time and when he wanted. One of his favorite places was the farm in Naples, Texas. He would visit every chance he got, as he loved farming and helping Uncle Randall, Uncle Carol, and Uncle Rex. He may have been quiet, but he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He would never let anyone leave the house empty handed, even if it was only a sack of vegetables from the farm.

In the last few months of his life, he fought hard to beat cancer and he never gave up. On one of his sickest days, he even said he needed to hurry up and get back to the farm to plant potatoes and onions. The time we did have in these last months were a blessing; playing Yahtzee, even though he always won, listening to music, watching Lester Holt every day, laughing, and just being together. Once he was home, it was beautiful to watch everyone who came by to visit and called to check on him.

Bryan is survived by his father, Rafel Ranes; his daughter, Kristin Ranes Howell; his son, Clayton Ranes; his grandchildren, Kinsey, Gunner, and Ethan; niece and nephew, Melanie Hawkins and Dustin Ranes; great-nephews and nieces, Lucas, Ryan, Charlotte, and Kinslee. He is also survived by a lot of great friends he called family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margie Ranes, and brother, Steven Ranes.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was no to be,

so He put his arms around you, And whispered, "Come with Me."

With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.

Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 28th at New Hope Funeral Home - 500 US-80 Sunnyvale, TX 75182.

In lieu of flowers we ask that any money be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his name.
