Billie Jess Bruton was a caring, loving, giving - wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world to be with her Savior on July 11, 2022, just two days before her 96th birthday.
She was born to William Jesse and Dovie Pearl Wainscott on July 13, 1926, in Hillsboro, TX where she grew up and graduated from Hillsboro High School. She met the love of her life, Willard Bradham Bruton, after accidentally flirting with him, mistaking him for someone else. They married on November 25, 1942. After WWII, they moved to Dallas, TX where she got a job at H.L. Green, a dime store in downtown. In 1950 they started their family with the birth of their first child. Together they had three children: Terry, Debbie and Jimmy. In 1970, her husband was transferred to Atlanta, GA with Ford Motor Company, where she followed and continued to be a wonderful mom, raise her children, become a grandmother and be very active in her church. She and her family lived in Morrow, GA, from 1970 to 1979 when she and Willard moved back home to Texas.
In days gone by, our precious matriarch also enjoyed painting, playing her piano, going to the mountains, crocheting, and reading her Bible. She loved listening to Christian music, especially anything by the Gaithers. In her later years, her church became the Christian ministries on television, which she watched almost daily. Her absolute favorite thing in the world was to talk about her Jesus and to encourage others to love and follow Him with their whole heart.
Billie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard Bradham Bruton, her son, Terry Lynn Bruton and her daughter Deborah (Debbie) Elaine Tyndall, her parents, two brothers and her sister. She is survived by her son, James (Jimmy) Lee Bruton and his wife Debra and Billie's Son-in-law Dwight Tyndall. She deeply loved her 8 grandchildren: Pamela Elerson and her husband Joseph, Michael Bruton and his wife Lisa (preceded), Becky Burkett and her husband Scott, Andy Tyndall, Kacy Svoboda and her husband Daniel, Bailey Bruton, Mackenzie Herman and her husband Bryce and United States Army Sergeant Jesse Bruton. She shared the same love and pride for her 17 great grandchildren: Cheyanne Mayo, United States Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Avery Johnson, Mariah and Toby Clowers, Sean, Colin and Gracie Flanagan, Halle Burkett, Izzy, Emma, Levi and Matthew Tyndall, Rhodes, Tilly and Wynni Joy Svoboda, Frankie Rae and Ollie Banks Herman. She also had 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Family was everything to Billie. She adopted the role of "second mom" to many sons and daughters beyond her blood. She enjoyed time spent with family whenever she could. She loved life and above all, loved The Lord.
