Zelma Dean Tate was born on May 1, 1935 to the late Marguerite Ann Lewis & Bynum D. Perry and passed away at her home on December 8, 2023. She had 2 siblings, Jerry Perry and the late, Buddy Perry.
Zelma was a retired school teacher, wife, mother, granny, and a longtime resident of Mesquite, Texas. She and her late husband, Robert "RV" Tate, were married for 72 years and raised 3 children, Lynn Tate Hill, Patty Tate, and the late Veda Gene Tate Gann. They also helped to raise 2 grandchildren and hosted a foreign exchange student, Ann Jones Wright, with whom they maintained a fond relationship.
She loved traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by 2 of her daughters and her grandchildren, Harold Mason, Kristi Moreno, Bert Wells III, Derek & Hilary Hill, her great-grandchildren, Parker & Jackson Wells, Ashton Hill, Beau Mason, and Ariana Moreno, and many nieces and nephews.
