Wilma LaVerne Moore

LaVerne Baker Moore was born on November 24, 1926 and passed away on January 28, 2018. LaVerne is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James L. Moore and parents: William Baker and Ruby Clyburn. LaVerne is survived by her children: David Young Moore and wife Beverly, James Dwaine Moore, Dennis Paul Moore; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kim Moore; grandchildren: Aaron Moore, Ryan Moore, Adam Eugene Moore and wife Leslie; great grandchild, Brooklyn Bailey Moore; sister, Sherrion Gail Robbins Blanche; nephew Gregg Thomas Blanche and beloved cat, Mr. B. LaVerne graduated from Bullard High school with honors and then went on to graduate from Tyler Commercial College. She was a lifetime member and recipient of the Dallas PTA Achievement Award and was heavily involved with the Bryan Adams High School Sports Booster Club. LaVerne was one of the founding members of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in 1956 when church was held at the homes of church members. She was a member of the Women’s Historical Society and two time Texas Delegate of the Republican National Convention in 1980 and 1984.She was Chairman of the Republican National Convention Host Committee in 1984 which was held in Dallas, TX. and even got to meet Ronald Regan. A visitation will be held for LaVerne on Wednesday January 31, 2018 from 11:00PM-12:00PM with Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas in the Garden of Ascension.
