William Allen Vath

December 30, 1949 — May 1, 2006

VATH, William A. (Bill) 56, born December 30, 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin slipped peacefully into the Lord's hands on May 1, 2006 at his home in Dallas. He was a graduate of Sandia High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico and attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico. On July 27, 1968 he married his wife, Pam and they had 38 years together that with hard work and love gave them a strong bond on which to build a family. He loved to take his family camping and fishing in Minnesota and Colorado. When his children became involved in sports he was always there as a coach or booster supporter. His son, Joshua, was involved in baseball and roller hockey. He took on the job of coaching his son's roller hockey team and they won the New Mexico Roller Hockey Championships 3 years in a row. At his daughter, Erin's, soccer games he was always up pacing the sidelines like a nervous lion, cheering her on.Bill's happiest times were spent being involved with his son, Josh and daughter, Erin. The will always be his "Mo" and "Ery". A new star came into his life with the birth of his grandson, Collin Michael Vath.It was like a new gift from God had come into his life.He loved teaching his little "buddy" how to cast a fishing line off the balcony at home and shoot water rockets at the park. Collin and Bill spent many hours on the balcony sitting and talking about things grandpas and grandsons talk about.Collin was a bright star in his grandpa's heart and he will always be watching over his "little buddy". Bill is survived by his wife, Pam, children, Joshua and Erin, grandson, Collin and his Ashleigh Baby; his mother, Arlene Vath, sister, Linda; brother, Thomas in Albuquerque; his favorite uncle and aunt, Curt and Jimmie Cunningham of Albuquerque; his father-in-law, Daryl Orth with whom he spent many hours taking with these last few weeks and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his beloved father, Dennis, who was waiting with open arms for him. Honey, you will always be in my heart. Love, Pam. Memorial service will be 2:00PM Friday May 5, 2006 at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.
