William Dewey "Jack" of Mesquite, born March 5, 1916 in Paris, Texas, passed away November 4, 2004. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mesquite.He worked for Continental Trailways Bus Line for 38 years. Preceded in death by parents, Frank & Mary & sister, Mildred Denny. Survived by wife of 63 years, Frances Louise Shires of Mesquite; sons, Bill Shires & Debbie Wheeler of Mesquite; & Cindy Shires of Illinois, Bobby Shires & wife, Tonda of Mesquite; 8 grandchildren, Rodney, Tanjla & Bobby, Nathan, Will, Jennifer, Dustin, Kristin, Alicia; 9 great grandchildren, Margaret, Stephanie, Tiffany, Samantha, Charla, Mason, Aaron, Cooper, Mady; life-long family friends, Billie Redd and family, Margaret Lacy, Loriene & Lawrence Miller and Lois Helms, all of Mesquite. Services will be at 3:00PM Monday, November 8, 2004, at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel with Sammy Hargrove & Pat Grable officiating. The Shires family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to the 12th floor and 4th floor nurses in the Roberts Bldg. of Baylor Hospital.Also Drs. Tulanon, Rodriguez, Jacobson and a special thank you to the support and dedication of Dr. Paul Neubach. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4:00PM - 6:00PM
