William Newton

September 30, 1925 — February 19, 2004

William Ancel Newton junior, "Billy", of Forney, Texas passed away at his home on February 19 at the age of 78 after a long battle with cancer.He was born September 30, 1925 in Forney, Texas, the elder of two sons born to Ruby Lee Warden Newton and William Ancel Newton. Billy served the Lord as an active member of the First Baptist Church of Forney.He was a member of the local Lions Club, the Forney chapter of American Legion, and Billy had been a Shriner member of the Masonic Lodge since 1967.As a veteran of World War II he entered the United States Navy in 1944 and served until honorably discharged as Seaman First Class in 1946. On August 10, 1946 Billy married Hazel Watts of Mesquite, Texas.They had two children, Carolyn Marie and Billy Wayne.Billy retired from Trinity Industires in 1990.He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.Billy will be missed and remembered for his kindness to others and for his love of life. His brother, Darrell Porter Newton, preceded him in death in 1985.He is survived by his wife, Hazel Marie; his daughter Carolyn Marie Boller and husband Jim of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son Billy Wayne Newton and wife Lori of Forney, Texas; four grandchildren, Elicia Paige Boller of New York, New York, James Leroy Boller IV of Corpus Christi, Texas, Aria Marie Johnson of Mabank, Texas and Melanie Jean Kinney of Cary, North Carolina. Other survivors include five great grandchildren; Wiley Lane Johnson, Bailey Marie Johnson, Zoey Linn Johnson, William Andrew Newton, Carol Eleanor Newton, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 East Highway 80 in Sunnyvale, Texas from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20.A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 21 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in Forney at 2:00 p.m. where Pastor Jerry Griffin will conduct the eulogy and Dr. Jimmy D. Pritchard will officiate. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that Memorials be made in Billy's memory to the First Baptist Church of Forney, P. O. Box 97, Forney, Texas 75126.
