William Thomas Derrick

DERRICK, William Thomas "Bud" of Mesquite, born January 6, 1934, passed away December 21, 2006. Preceded in death by his parents, Ella Wilson & Thomas Derrick and sister, Darlene Tanton. Bud is survived by a loving family who will miss him very much: wife of 43 years, Frances, daughter & son-in-law, Sandra & Deryl Harrison and son & daughter-in-law, John & Georganna Derrick & grandchildren, Daniel Hopkins, Seth Hopkins Joseph Hopkins, Andrew Derrick and Sarah Derrick and many cousins. Bud was a Deacon and longtime member for 39 years of the First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite.A graduate of Forest Avenue High School in Dallas, Bud worked as a hardwood flooring contractor in Dallas for many years. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, playing golf and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. The family will receive friends Friday December 22, at New Hope Funeral Home from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Service will be 11:00AM Saturday December 23, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite, 1028 S. Beltline Rd., Mesquite, TX. 75149.Graveside service will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park, 4118 Samuell Blvd., Dallas, TX. 75228. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 1028 S. Beltline Rd., Mesquite, TX. or VITAS Hospice, 8585 N. Stemmons Frwy., # 700, S. Tower, Dallas, TX. 75247. Pallbearers are Ed Lawton, Larry Dodd Tommie Buchanan, Joe Bob Buchanan, Harry Brumley and David Evans.
