William Earl "Bill" Calvin

William Earl ‘Bill’ Calvin, aged 92, passed from this earth on October 24, 2016 in Plano, TX. Bill was born on May 18, 1924 in Drumright, OK to Thomas Benton Calvin and Hester Harmon Calvin.He married Penny Elizabeth Pelt in 1951, and the couple had four children who blessed them with five grandchildren.Bill attended the University of Oklahoma and served in World War II in the Air Force Medical Services and the Army.After the war, he worked primarily in sales of down hole equipment for oil and gas production in the South Texas area. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Penny Pelt Calvin; daughter Deborah K. Calvin of Plano, TX; son William Marc Calvin and his wife Yvonne of Midland, TX; daughter Pamela Jerden and her husband Jay of Garland, TX; son Shane Calvin and his wife Cheryl of Dallas, TX.His grandchildren are Travis Gambill, Laura Gambill, Allison Self and her husband Corey, Gregg Calvin and Sara Calvin.He is also survived by his brother Roy L. Calvin and his wife Mary Jane of Jacksonville, FL, and sister Goldie C. Kellett of Arlington, TX and their children. Graveside Services will be held at DFW National Cemetery on 31 October 2016; 10:15 a.m.Chuck Adair, Church of Christ Minister, will officiate the service.
