William Lawrence Berthier

Surrounded by his loving family, Bill passed away at the age of 70 on July 29, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Dallas, TX on June 18, 1942, to Lawrence and Zelda Berthier. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joan Franklin. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Berthier of 42 years and his beloved dog DJ; his sister Barbara McCune, daughter Lori Beal and husband Jerry Beal. Grandchildren; Megan, Kasey, Bailey, great grandson Tristen. Nephews; Dan, David, Jeff, Craig and Niece Kim, and numerous Aunts and Uncles. Bill graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School 1961. He attended East Texas State in Commerce for 2 years before joining the Navy in 1963 " where he served for 3 years. He opened his own dental business making crowns and bridges for local Dentists in the Dallas area. He loved dogs and loved gardening " loved coming home with flowers for his wife. He collected little houses (Dept. 56) and devoted a whole room to the houses. Christmas was his favorite time of year! The house was always decorated to the hilt and even hosted tours! Grandkids couldnt wait to see how the house was decorated each year! He enjoyed Halloween parties and having the kids over for swimming and cook outs. Grandkids loved going over to paw paws ! He loved the late night bacon and egg sandwiches while mom was asleep!! You could always find him playing dominoes with his in-laws; He took such delight in beating everyone at Yahtzee and Monopoly. His favorite vacation spots were Canada, Hawaii and the Hill Country. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every minutes. We were blessed to have him as a husband, father, paw paw , brother, uncle, cousin and friend! Donations may be made to the SPCA of Texas. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning before the service from 11:00AM to 12:00Noon.
