Wilfred Bennett Andersen was born in Orange, California on March 7, 1963 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 17, 2010 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Hans Andersen of Westport, CT and his father-in-law, Elvis Oneal Healy of Beebe, AR.He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 20 years, Sharon Healy Andersen and his beloved children, Regan Elisabeth, 17and Bennett Neal, 15 of Sunnyvale, TXAlso survived by his mother, Bettye Andersen of Westport, CT; brothers William Hans (Bill) Andersen of Tampa, FL and Robert Peter (Bob) Andersen of Baton Rouge, LA; mother-in-law, Ruth Healy of Beebe, AR; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Neal Healy (Ann) of Rowlett, TX and Travis Paul Healy of Beebe, AR; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by close family friends, Aguilars, Chapmans, Hares, Kirkpatricks, McSpaddens, Odles and Teels; a host of church family, Harding University family and his Fidelity work family. Ben and Sharon met while attending Harding University in Searcy, AR where they belonged to brother/sister clubs, Chi Sigma Alpha and Regina. Ben was loved and respected in every aspect of his life.His love and devotion to his wife and children was apparent to anyone who knew him.He loved his mother and brothers deeply and was loved and admired by them as well.He was an outstanding husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. A friend and co-worker of his admired his ability to balance his work, home and spiritual life, giving each one the attention and dedication it deserved while making it look easyHe was passionate about his work and enjoyed it so that it was not like work at all.He enjoyed finding solutions to problems and felt great satisfaction in the knowledge that he had a part in creating a quality product for his company.He loved being a part of the Fidelity family and Fidelity was incredibly good to him, especially during his illness.His family will be forever grateful for the love and support lavished upon them during a most difficult journey. The influence he had at Meadow View Church of Christ was vast and far-reaching.Whatever he put his hand to, he did it with all his heart, working for the Lord and not for man.He touched lives on the Joy Bus, the Youth Ministry, the Finance Ministry, LTC, Mission Trips, Summer Camp, Youth Advances, the audio/visual ministry, Life Groups and any other area where he saw a need.While in the hospital, many former youth group members made the trip to Arlington to see him and let him know the impact he had on their lives and how much they loved him for it.He loved the Lord and he touched many lives in ways we may never know. He was active in his community as a cub scout and boy scout leader.He participated in his childrens school activities, and volunteered his time to the school band and other organizations.He took every opportunity to support his children in their activities. God was first in Bens life followed closely by his family.He also was dedicated to his friends, work, community and his country. He was loved and he will be severely missed. The family wants to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their love, support, encouragement, and prayers.You fed us, you took care of our home, you provided transportation, you were there when we needed you.Most importantly, you loved Ben.There are no words to adequately express the love and gratitude we feel for you.
