He became a commercial painter and member of Painter’s Local 53 in the 60’s.Preston was a master at matching paint colors and stains in his trade as a commercial painter. He continued in this occupation until his retirement at the age of 62. His greatest joys were his wife, family and faith. He loved horseback riding, fishing, motorcycles, traveling with his “little bride” and buying and selling – golf cars, boats, travel trailers, used cars, box trucks, pianos, horses, anything he could sell for a profit!Of course buying and selling gave him an opportunity to “talk” and share “stories” with many people which he dearly loved. Preston had many names in his 89 years – Preston, Wesley, Honey, Daddy, Pa, Mac, Cotton – but “Pa” was probably HIS favorite.
