Weldon "James" Louis Willingham, Jr., born on May 14, 1953, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2024, at the age of 71. A devoted family man, James dedicated his life to his loved ones, including his wife Tina, his children Christina Bilyeu, Gary Willingham, Weldon Willingham III, and Jamie Speed. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by his sisters, Joan Harrison, Anne Reed, and Pennie Gonzalez, as well as brothers-in-law, Kenny Reed and Ray Harrison.

James was preceded in death by: Claudia Willingham, Weldon Willingham, Sr., Johnny Willingham, Eddie Gonzalez, and Eduardo Gonzalez.

James was a retired mechanic who spent many years working with DART. His mechanical skills were not just confined to his profession; he had a passion for fixing cars for anyone and everyone, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. He took great joy in budgeting and providing for his family, ensuring their needs were met while creating memorable moments filled with laughter. James was known for his generosity and often donated to causes that he held dear to his heart.

In addition to his work and family, James had a strong faith, often praised the Lord, and found peace in reading. His ability to bring people together and foster a spirit of community will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. James' spirit will continue to inspire and uplift those he loved, and his memory will live on in their hearts.

The celebration of James' life will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. A visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at New Hope Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North Texas Food Bank.
