Virginia Utnage, 94, of Terrell, Texas passed away on November 9, 2024. Ginny, as she was called, was born in St Louis, Missouri on October 16, 1930. She attended Goshen College in Indiana for one year and then Oklahoma Baptist University for two years, majoring in Home Economics. She married William Utnage on October 18, 1952 after meeting in Young Life and falling in love. Working with Travelers Insurance at times and other secretarial jobs, she focused the majority of her time as a beloved wife, mother, family member, friend, and church member.
Ginny was an active and faithful church member throughout her life, engaging with a variety of Christian ministries at their church, Metropolitan Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, followed by faithful membership at First Baptist Church of Rockwall, and later, Lake Ridge Bible Church in Mesquite, Texas for many years. She was also involved with Wycliffe Associates, and the Gideon's International Women's Auxillary ministries.
Ginny is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Brenda Utnage; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Keith Wright; grandchildren and spouses: Meghan and Jon Garner, Amy and David Harris, Christy and Johnny Antle, Kevin and Tyler Wright; great-grandchildren: Micah and Cory Harris, Joshua, Kara, and Ezra Antle; nephew and spouse, Michael and Debbie Maczuk; niece and spouse, Nancy and David McCahan; great-niece and spouse, Jeni and Mike Nilges with children Lexi, Jack, and Ryli; great-niece and spouse, Kati and Tim Douglas with children Trip and Colt.
Ginny's life stands as an example of Christ's faithfulness to His constant grace and sacrifice. She was known by all for her prayer, Bible study groups, hospitality, giving service and support to her family and friends as she has now entered the embrace of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
The memorial service for Mrs. Virginia Utnage will be held on December 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 US Highway 80E, Sunnyvale, TX 75182.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Gideon's International.
