Vearl Alfred Boles

March 16, 1945 — December 17, 2022

VEARL ALFRED BOLES was born March 16, 1945 in Kankakee, Illinois.  He is also known as “V.A.”, “Butch” or “Bubba” – depending on to whom you are talking.  He passed away December 17, 2022 at his home in Mesquite, Texas at age 77.  He was of Christian Faith.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Phoebe and Edward Neff, who raised him.  He is also preceded in death by his father, Vearl Howard Boles, his mother, Bernice Nowman, and his son, Jody Boles.

He is survived by daughters, Juli Ann Reiniche and Marlo Sanchez (David Beard); son, Tom Boles; and step-son, Derrick Hollaman (wife Amy); brother, Ron Toulouse (wife Marie), 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by an uncle, Bill Neff, and a cousin, Nancy Schultz.

He is survived by special friend and companion, Gwen Stokes and her children Sonja Stokes and Billy Stokes and his wife, Sonya.

When V.A. was growing up, he and his grandparents lived in a nice house on the bank of the Kankakee River.  Along with his life-long friend, Frankie Cuchiara, and their other friends they swam, fished, camped, rowed a boat, and explored all along the river.

V.A. was Operations Manager at Metroplex Business Interiors (MBI) in Dallas.  This company designed, sold, delivered, and installed high end office furnishings for large corporations throughout the DFW Metroplex.  He previously had held similar positions in Chicago and in up-state New York.   His resume includes working as a successful Realtor for many years.  He was store manager at Northern Tool and worked inside sales at Terminex.

V.A. loved to ride his Harleys as well as other bikes.  He also enjoyed restoring classic cars, motorcycles, and Cushman Scooters.

Since retiring, V.A. became an enthusiastic Bingo player.  He enjoyed going to the Bingo Hall to socialize and banter back and forth with the other players while he carefully kept an eye on the game.

A special “Thank You” is extended to the Vitas Hospice team for their excellent service and to Dr. Lance Miller who has provided outstanding medical care over the years.
