Twyla Tha Myers

Twyla Tha Hopkins Myers, beloved Wife, Mother and Nana, born July 1, 1946, passed away on April 8, 2013.Twyla fought three and a half months with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Twyla was born in Dallas, Texas to her adored parents Bert and Hyla Hopkins and much loved brother Dwayne Shelton Hopkins, who have preceded her in death. Twyla was raised in the Pleasant Grove area.After graduating from WW Samuell High School in 1964, Twyla worked for Employees Insurance of Texas for sixteen years, retiring from other employment.Twyla and her husband Joe were very active at Pleasant Oaks Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas.One of Twylas great loves was being with her grandchildren and her Arts and Crafts. Twyla is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joe, her beloved children Joel and Tara.She was Nana to her five grandchildren: Randal, Aaron, Ashleigh, Noah and Melanee.Sister Maurine Bandru and sister-in-law Kathy Hopkins and their families. To her sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins, she loved and enjoyed your company very much.Our heartfelt thanks to all families and friends that have prayed for us.Please continue to remember us in your prayers. Interment 1:30 p.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery, Van Zandt County.
