Tommy Duckworth

Tommy Earl Duckworth, 82 - a lifelong resident of Sunnyvale, TX, was born in Dallas County on June 20th, 1941 to parents Ruth Mozelle and Lawrence Dee Duckworth. He was peacefully called home to the Lord on December 13th, 2023.

Tommy had a successful almost 40-year career in all facets of real estate, making many friends along the way. His professional life came with accolades and accomplishments as he rose in the construction field at the early age of 19. Starting out building multifamily homes in San Antonio, he quickly moved onto building and selling his own homes in his 30's, before finding his specialty in real estate at Century 21 (and eventually other various companies). Here he made top 2% in the nation five times.

He was an avid movie watcher and collector, enjoying many hours with friends and family watching a good movie. He was a man of many hobbies spending his time drawing, writing short stories, taking pictures, playing sudoku and dominos, collecting treasures, completing puzzles, and reading mystery novels. He was a proud Cowboys fan through thick and thin, never missing a game. He loved being a grandfather - a Papaw.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carole Duckworth, his children Rebecca Dee Duckworth, Richard Stephen Duckworth, and Bryan Edgar Duckworth. His stepson Steven Dietzman and his wife Tammy. His stepdaughter Carole Dietzman. He is survived by his grandchildren Jacob Dee Smith and his fiancée Deanna, Colby Duckworth and his wife Stazny and their children Mabel, Dax, and Koa, Travis Duckworth and his wife Janelle, Stephanie Greeno and her husband Dakota, Sabrina Bukai and her husband Joshua, and Annika Moore. Additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Jeannie Yandell and her husband Walter, Peggy Wilson and her husband Jim.

Tommy was a father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and great grandfather, but friend to all.

Celebration of life will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10 am at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX.
