Thomas Russell Essary

ESSARY, Thomas Russell (Tommy) 51. Heavens angels called Tommy home unexpectedly on May 24, 2011. Tommy was born April 27, 1960 in Paris, Texas and was the sixth of nine children born to James & Elizabeth Essary. The family settled in Mesquite in 1962. Tommy attended Mesquite schools and graduated from North Mesquite High in 1978. Tommy was interested in construction and began working inthat field. Tommy began his career with Cadence McShane and after 14 years as a superintendent, he was promoted to General Superintendent. At that time he began to provide leadership, mentoring, scheduling and the management of 20 superintendents with the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Tommy had over 25 years experience in field supervision on numerous projects that included office, industrial, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, retail and multi-family markets. He utilized his experience in the construction industry to positively impact Cadence McShane and completed many projects ahead of schedule. Tommy was a member of the American General Contractors of America (AGC) and QUOIN, the Dallas Chapter of AGC. Tommy was a dedicated part of his team and will be greatly missed by those he worked with. Tommy loved his children and family very much and now our family chain is broken and will never the same. But, as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Tommy is preceded in death by his father, James Essary; mother, Elizabeth Essary Keiser; brother, David Essary; sisters, Darla Essary and Becky Essary Uhl. Tommy leaves many who loved him, to cherish his memory, including his daughter, Randi Whicker & husband, Eric; daughter, Cari Essary & fianc Dusty Brown; sons, Ryan & Michael Essary; two beautiful grandsons, Easton and Kasen Whicker. Tommy is also survived by step-father, Darold Keiser; sisters, Joni Neilson, Mary Essary Morris & husband, Carl; Teresa Essary Smith as well as brothers Steve Essary & wife Deborah, James Essary and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to The Gate Fund at Williams Funeral Directors, 1600 S. Garland Ave., Garland, TX. 75040 in Tommys memory. Service will be 11:00AM Monday May 30, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182 Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday morning from 10:00AM - 11:00AM.
