Thomas James Ashburn, born on May 13, 1941, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, made his final journey on February 2, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. He was affectionately known as "Jim" by all who knew him. A proud veteran of the Navy, Jim dedicated his life to service and hard work, retiring as a delivery driver in the auto industry. He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, embodied by his daughter Karyn Watkins and her husband Jimmy, His son Brian Ashburn and girlfriend Kelley, and his daughter Sheryl Thomas.
Jim found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often basking in the tranquility of the waters, where he found both solitude and connection with nature. His love for wrestling brought excitement to his evenings, sharing many unforgettable moments with friends and family in spirited discussions over the latest matches. He also had a passion for card games, where laughter and competition flowed freely, creating bonds that will forever be treasured.
He is remembered fondly by his sister Doris Blackford, nieces Rhea Ann Kendrick, Dana Blackford, and nephew Jim Blackford, along with his beloved grandchildren Dausyn Thomas, Emily Watkins, Jadyn Thomas and wife Destiny, Hannah Seavey and husband Jason, Dacoda Thomas, and Micah Watkins, as well as his great-grandchildren Madelyn and Danilee Watson, and Maxwell Seavey. In every heart he touched, he planted seeds of kindness and humor, which will continue to flourish in the memories of all who knew him.
