Terri Jean Lindley Peters, beloved mother and wife, passed away peacefully in her home in Forney, Texas in the late morning of December 10th, 2024. She was 70 years old.
Terri was born in Brownfield, Texas on June 30, 1954 to Robert Harold Lindley and Joyce Adele Cave Lindley. The youngest of four siblings, she grew up on unicycles, rock n' roll, jump-roping, and pestering her older brother, Bobby. She graduated from Brownfield High School in 1972 after winning all of the class nominations and cheerleading accolades that a high school girl could hope for. She moved to Dallas, Texas shortly after, where she would spend the rest of her life.
Terri's joy and endless optimism were infectious to everyone around her. She was funny, playful, light-hearted, but also very thoughtful and unusually wise. She could always identify the things that really mattered in life, and rarely let the noisy world get the best of her. She lit up every room, brought a smile to every face, and assured everyone in her life that they had a true friend in her. Her relationship with God was self-evident; you could feel that spark in her words, actions, and character right to the very end.
Terri is survived and remembered by her husband, Timothy Scott Peters; her son, Alexander Scott Peters and his wife Kelly Peters; her sister, Marsha Hamm and husband Steve Hamm; her nieces, Shelly Merkle and Shannon Holler; much more extended family, and countless friends that will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Harold Lindley and Joyce Adele Cave Lindley; and her brothers, Ronald Howard Lindley and Robert Wayne Lindley.
The Peters, Lindley, Hamm, Merkle, and Hollar families will all miss her dearly, and we will always carry her memory and incredible spirit with us through this life.
Our family will host a memorial service on Saturday, January 11th at 2:00pm at New Hope Funeral Home located at 500 US Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, Texas, 75182. We will begin gathering at 1pm, and anyone who would like to remember Terri with us is welcome to attend.
