It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Sylvia Dominguez DeLuna on November 17, 2024. Born on May 22, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas, her family later moved to Dallas, where she grew up. She worked for KPMG for most of her career and enjoyed her latest job working as a receptionist for Berry Family Services. She is preceded in death by her father Raymond Dominguez, her mother Olga Rubio, her husband Steve DeLuna and her brother Raymond Dominguez. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Schildmeyer and Denise Haar. Her grandchildren-Justin Adkins and wife Larissa Vu, Mason Schildmeyer and wife Victoria, Taylor Leonard, and Presley Haar. Her great-grandchildren, Justin Adkins Jr., Melida Adkins, Matthew Schildmeyer, and Maddox Schildmeyer. Her sisters Dolores Cervantes (husband Lupe), Perla Abelino, Pauline Trevino, Betty Camacho and Cindy Mancha (husband Jimmy), Her brother Ronnie Dominguez and her many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a kind-hearted spirit who radiated love and compassion. She never judged, never hesitated to uplift those around her, and always made us feel seen and cherished. Throughout her 73 years, her life revolved around her family. She took immense pride in her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family time was important and it was spent by taking vacations together, getting together at home, or getting together for meals at her favorite restaurants. She was the grandmother that always showed up for her grandkids activities. As a grandmother and a great grandmother, "Bama" was simply the best anyone could ask for. She was the cornerstone of countless family traditions, from spontaneous trips to Braum's to the unforgettable moments she created during family vacations. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will each carry special memories, as she had a unique bond with each of them. Her laughter and joy filled every room, and her love was the glue that held us together.
Known for her kind heart and infectious good spirit, she loved to have a good time. She had an unwavering love for the Dallas Cowboys and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, or yell at them through the screen if she had to. Everyone that knows our mom knows she loved to dance. Tejano music and dancing go hand-in-hand as her favorite hobbies. We have so many memories of her dancing and humming along to the music. She always looked forward to meeting up with her "Golden Ladies" for some girl time every month. She loved meeting up with her sisters for breakfast every week. She was a social butterfly and loved spending time with the people who meant the most to her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that her family and friends will carry with them forever.
Her warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew her. She meant so much to so many people. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
