BURLESON, Sue Stewart, a gentle and loving lady departed this life on March 11, 2005, having completed 92 years with a deep faith and devotion to our Lord. She was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.Sue was born December 23, 1912 in Groesbeck, TX. to Jack & Annie Stewart.She was descended from a Limestone County pioneer family.A long time resident of Forney, TX. she was ?Granny? to all who knew her.She loved her family and was an inspiration to her children. She had a great passion for homemaking, cooking and found great delight in preparing meals for her large family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis ?Preacher? Burleson and son Kenneth, as well as her parents and seven brothers and sisters.She married Preacher on November 21, 1931.He departed this life in October 1967.Mourning her passing are her children, Helen Whaley, Forney; Kerry Burleson, Melissa; Martha Lawson, Austin; Hugh Burleson, Whitesboro; Marilyn Petty, Port Mansfield; Carol Fuller, Rockwall; and Billy Jack Burleson, Plano.She was the proud Granny of 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.Sue is also survived by twin sister, Mary Williams, Houston; sisters, Vivian Bryant, Fort Worth and Margaret Coe of Groesbeck.Services will be 2:00PM Monday, March 14, 2005, at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.Brother Ken Leonard, greatly loved and respected by our dear mother will officiate her services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.Sleep well, dear Mother, and awake to renewed life with those loved ones who have gone before. You are ?Our Sunshine?, we will join you later, much love ? your children.
