Being at the farm was his happy place with his Uncle Randall and his brother. He had a true passion for farming, growing watermelon, and blaring his music with his brother, Bryan. He loved his family and friends and most of all the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved scratch off tickets, fantasy football, football pots and horse racing, but he wouldn't tell anyone when he won. Steve had a huge heart and loved unconditionally but could also be very bossy and stubborn, those who were loved by him wouldn't have wanted him any other way, He was Steve Ranes.

Steve is survived by his father Rafel Ranes, daughter Melanie Ranes Hawkins, son, Dustin Ranes, Grandchildren, Ryan Hawkins, Lucas Hawkins, Kinslee Eakin and Charlotte Ranes, his brother, Bryan Ranes, Niece and Nephew Kristin and Clayton Ranes. A limb has fallen from the family tree

I hear a voice that whispers, 'Grieve not for me'

Remember the best times, the laughter, the songs

The good I lived while I was strong

Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you

Keep on smiling, the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest

Remembering all...how I was truly blessed

Continue traditions, no matter how small

Go on with your lives, don't stare at the wall

I miss you all dearly so keep up your chin

Until that fine day we're together again
