Steven Carlisle

June 16, 1964 — July 25, 2024

Emblem

Steven Carlisle, loving husband of Lorraine, proud father of Nate and Tyler, and friend to numerous people around the globe, suddenly and unexpectedly left this earthly plane behind for a better place with God on July 25, 2024. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jo-Ann Carlisle.

Steve was born June 16, 1964, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up an avid Reds fan, watching and following their games his entire life. Steve attended The University of Cincinnati (UC), where he earned his B.S. degree in Pharmacy. In addition to being a proud Bearcat, Steve was also proud of getting his Doctor of Pharmacology degree from Ohio State in 1998.

Shortly after graduating from UC, Steve entered the United States Air Force as a second lieutenant. He retired as a major from the Air Force in October 2013, after nearly 25 years of service which included tours of duty during Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and was a combat veteran of Afghanistan where he distinguished himself. For the past several years, Steve served as a senior medical liaison officer with several small research pharmaceutical companies in Texas where he was charged with explaining the science and medical aspects of his companies' pharmaceuticals to doctors and the broader medical community.

Steve married the love of his life, Lorraine, in 2006. He enjoyed telling the story of how they met at the airport. Steve would say that he was there in his uniform and this beautiful woman approached him and started talking to him casually, admitting that she was afraid of flying. Steve was able to reassure Lorraine, and the conversation continued for the rest of his life. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family.

Steve loved his son, Nate, more than anything and often talked about how very proud he was of him. Steve was especially proud of Nate's amazing talent for guitar, bass and other instruments. He often spoke fondly about sharing their love of music together.

Steve's character was demonstrated in the way he loved his family and friends, and received that love back ten-fold. Steven Carlisle will be deeply missed by his family and friends, until such time as they are able to be with him once again.
