Shirley Maureen Clark

Shirley “Shirl” Maureen Clark (ne Benedict) passed away peacefully at her home following a brief battle with cancer on March 3, 2016 in Garland, Texas at the age of 80. Shirley was born on May 18, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to Thomas and Hazel Benedict and spent her entire life in the Dallas area. She married the love of her life, Jack Clark, on May 10, 1952, and they remained inseparable until his death in 2002. Shirl never met a stranger and was an immediate friend to all. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, vacationing and playing bingo. She brought smiles to those around her, and her fiery spirit always livened up a conversation. Shirl was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt and will be sorely missed by those who loved her. Shirl is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and William Winn; siblings Norma Petty, Charles Benedict and Jack Benedict; grandchildren Brian Clark, Justin Winn and Kristin Parr; seven great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces that she adored. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Clark; son Steven Clark; and siblings Peggy Benedict and Thomas Benedict.
