Shirley Faye Carter

CARTER, Shirley Faye of Mesquite, born May 13, 1931 in Dallas, TX.went home to be with her Lord onApril 4, 2011. Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & aunt. Shirley loved her family, her friends, her Bible and her Lord. She was known and loved by many including church members, choir memebers, neighbors and the occasional stranger, which she seldom ever met. She lived her life placing others before self. Her testimony was her life and her life was her testimony. She was a prayer warrior that always stayed courageous and ended up victorious. There may be sadness on earth, but there is great rejoicing in Heaven We will miss her here in so many ways, but know we will see her again and until then our hearts will go on singing. She was a member of Oates Drive Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Bill F. Carter; parents, Horace & Vera England; sister, Phyllis Hart; brother, Ray England. Survived by children, Chris Carter & wife, Linda, Kevin Carter & wife, Amanda, Matt Carter & wife, Leah, Phyllis Carter Weir & husband, Larry; grandchildren, Brandon Weir & wife, Crystal, Justin Carter & wife, Anna, Rachel Weir, Angela Carter, Ashley Carter, Phillip Carter, Dillon Carter, Braden Carter & Trevor Gray, Zachary Carter; great grandchildren, Alaina Carter, Madison Weir, Cailyn Weir; brother, David England & wife, Gretchen; ; longtime best friend, Luther Shumaker. Service will be 2:00PM Thursday April 7, 2010 at Oates Drive Baptist Church, 2805 Oates Drive, Mesquite, TX. 75150. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00PM " 7:00PM.
