Sherrie Petty

PETTY, Sherrie Lynn born, July 24, 1949, in Dallas, TX., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 25, 2007. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother.She was married to her high school sweetheart for 39 years.She was a devoted 1st grade teacher at McWhorter Elementary in Mesquite for 21 years.She also taught Sunday School for over 25 years.She touched and changed the lives of all her family, friends, students.Her warm and loving smile will be missed by all that knew her.She was a kind-hearted person with a giving heart. She was preceded in death by her father, George Blocker.Survived by her husband, Bill Petty; her children, Ed Petty & Amanda Stewart; mother, Maurine Blocker; brother, Ronnie Blocker; and her grandchildren, Max, Lindsay, Jonathan, Benjamin and Luke. Service will be 10:00AM Thursday June 28, 2007, at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00PM8:00PM.
