If you ever were fortunate enough to meet her, you no doubt fell victim to her magnetic smile and instantaneous friendship.She touched lives her entire life by just having the desire to get to know you. Shelley (Smith) Carlson, born on August 18, 1952 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to the late Billie Smith and the late Warren C. Smith, passed away unexpectedly at age 65 on April 16, 2018 in Richardson, Texas from complications from pneumonia. She graduated from Midwestern State University in 1975. She was an Elementary School Teacher at Wichita Falls ISD and then Richardson ISD until retiring in 2004. Shelley is survived by her loving husband, Richard, and daughter, Courtney Carlson; her sister Cindy Green and husband Richard of Carmel, Indiana; her brother Chuck Smith and wife Deatra of Wichita Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was an active member of Woodcreek Church serving as a women’s bible study leader, mentor, teacher of 7th grade girls, and many other ministries. She had a warm boldness for sharing the message of salvation that she cherished so much. She actively supported Strong Heart Fitness Ministry and had great passion for their mission of sharing the gospel. Friends and family members may attend the Celebration of Life service on Friday, April 20 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Woodcreek Church, 3400 E. Renner Rd, Richardson, Texas, 75082. A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Hwy 80, Sunnyvale, Texas, 75182. Graveside service is at noon on Friday at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas 75243.
