Sharon Lee McCoy Johnson, went to be with her Savior on January 14, 2024. She was with much of the family she loved so dearly as she drew her last breath after a brief illness. Sharon was born on November 25, 1947, and was the middle child of Iva Irene McCoy. Sharon graduated Mesquite High School in 1966 and married the love of her life, Leslie Dale Johnson on August 19, 1967. Sharon is survived by her three children, Kevin Johnson and wife Donna, Kelley Johnson and wife Tara, and Kendra Kimball and husband Eric. She was "Nana" to her seven adored grandchildren, Kaleb Johnson, Madeline Johnson, Mason Kimball, Hannah Johnson, Miles Kimball, Maddox Kimball, and Matthew Kimball, brother, Darrell McCoy and wife Gail, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and many, many friends. Sharon is proceeded in death by her mother Iva Irene McCoy, sister Navena Carnes, and two granddaughters.
Sharon spent her life devoted to raising their children and serving in various volunteer capacities at the children's schools and church. Sharon was the PTA President, Missionettes leader at the church and at the District level, Bible study leader, band sponsor, and chaperone, played the organ at church, and many other roles as she was needed. Sharon worked at the SMU Law Review as an administrative assistant. When she retired from SMU, she devoted her life to sewing, camping, and again loving her family.
