Mrs. Sara Koshy (Marykutty) was born on August 13, 1956 in Ranni, Kerala, India. Her parents, the late Mr. John Kurien and Aleyamma Kurien of Valavumkal house, were God-fearing and raised their children to follow the Lord. She was the fifth of six siblings: Johnson Kurien, Varghese Kurien, Sosamma Mathew, the late Rachel Philip, and Pr. John Kurien. On April 28, 1977, Sara married Pr. Koshy Thomas. In the initial years of their marriage, they served together at various Church of God (Full Gospel) churches in Pathanamthitta District. Later, Pastor Koshy Thomas was promoted to serve as the District Pastor at Nilambur and Ernakulam where Sara continued to support him in all aspects of ministry. Alongside her husband, Sara continued to serve the Lord and expand His Kingdom by planting churches and ministering to people in various parts of Kerala until 1999. On August 27, 1999, Pr. Koshy and Sara immigrated to the United States and continued in faithful ministry in Kenosha, WI and in the Chicagoland area. In 2011, they relocated to Texas and served as interim pastors at Faith Tabernacle Church of God in Allen, TX. For the last several years, Sara and her family were active members of Metro Church of God in Farmers Branch, TX. Sara was also very passionate about and involved in several local prayer ministries (Women’s Prayer, Mothers Prayer, and Thursday Prayer group) near her hometown of Garland, TX. Sara is survived by her husband (Pr. Koshy Thomas), children (Blessen “Sunnymon” & Jaicy, Shone & Jeena, and Princy “Shiney” & Senu, and grandchildren (Bella & Gabby, Shane & Jessa, and Savion & Spencer). 2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
