Sarah Jane Fisher was born on January 10, 1942 in Borger, Texas to Henry and Alice Frith. She went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2024 at the age of 82 years old.
Sarah grew up in Borger, Texas and graduated from Borger High School in 1960. She attended Frank Phillips Junior College. She worked as a registrar and helped a young man named, Eugene, sign up for classes. A week later, they went on their first date to the movie house to watch, the newly released, "Pinocchio". They were married at North Hills Church of Christ in Borger, Texas on May 29, 1965.
She attended Methodist Hospital Nursing School in Lubbock, Texas and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1965, while Eugene attended Texas Technological College (now known as Texas Tech University) for his BBA in Accounting. Afterwards, they moved to Norman, Oklahoma where she worked as a RN to put him through graduate school at the University of Oklahoma. While living in Oklahoma, they attended the Berry Road Church of Christ congregation in Norman. In 1967, he graduated from OU with his master's degree in Accounting and they moved to Dallas, Texas for his job with Haskins and Sells Public Accounting Firm while Sarah became a homemaker and they began their family. They lived in the Oak Cliff area, then moved to Mesquite, Texas, and in 1975 they bought acreage in Sunnyvale, Texas. There they would build a house in 1977 and then in 1980 would plant a pecan tree orchard.
In addition to being a homemaker, she was president of the Babysitting Club in Mesquite, Den mother for the Cub Scouts, president of the Sunnyvale Garden Club, and she owned her own Creative Memories Scrapbooking Business for 21 Years. While scrapbooking, she was a top producer and won several sales contests and incentive trips including a Hawaii vacation and several cruise vacations.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Alice Frith; her sister, Betty-Jo Woodruff; and her brother, Henry Frith Jr..
Sarah is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene; her three children and their spouses, Brent Fisher and wife Becky, Sondra Fisher, and Bradley Fisher and wife Catrina; 7 grandchildren; Zachary Fisher (Bayleigh), Erin Jones (Tyler), Colin Voto, Zane Fisher (fiancé Lisa Nicole), Harrison Voto, Audrey Fisher, and Lilly Fisher; 2 great-grandchildren, Titus Jones and Sunday Fisher.
