Sandra “Sandy” Ann Jones, age 66, of Forney, Texas, entered her heavenly home on May 5, 2018.Sandy is proceeded in death by her parents, J A Leroy and Audrey (Shirley) Martin. Sandy was born on February 23, 1952, in Dallas, Texas.She was an honor graduate of H. Grady Spruce High School and Draughon’s Business College.On October 27, 1972, she married the love of her life, Melvin Jones.Together they raised two children and spoiled their eight grandchildren.She spent her career with Dallas County and retired in 2014 after 30 years.The majority of that time was spent serving as Chief Clerk in the JP Precinct 2-2 court.Sandy’s unconditional and unending love for her family was evident in everything she did.She was wonderfully talented and enjoyed making unique gifts and tokens of love for her many friends and family.She spent her life surrounded and loved by children.Her grandkids were the light of her life and her greatest joy.She never missed a chance to tell them all, “I love you to the moon and back”.You would often find her rocking her babies to sleep and promised to rock them until “their feet hit the floor.”Sandy’s heart was a big as Texas and she touched the lives of many through her loving spirit. Sandy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Melvin Jones; her children, Jason (Tamara) Jones of Mesquite, Texas, Jennifer (Mark) Sedwick of McKinney, Texas; her grandchildren, Seth Jones, Kyle Jones, Rylee Jones, Briona Jones, Anthony Hernandez, Logan Sedwick, Abigail Sedwick, Alexandra Sedwick; her brother, James (Candace) Martin of Fitzgerald, Georgia.She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss her deeply. A planned visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 5-7 pm.A celebration of life will be on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at 12 noon in the chapel of New Hope Funeral Home.Interment will occur on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 10 am at the DFW National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
