Sandra Helen Chiles

March 12, 1941 — March 4, 2020

Sandra Helen Ferris Parsons Chiles, 78, passed away peacefully, after a long and hard-fought battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. She is preceded in death by her father, Critchell Parsons and her mother, Helen Ferris Dolge. She was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, and grew up in Highland Park, Texas. She loved the outdoors and was a member of several clubs with her favorite being a founding member of the Dallas United Pink Dragon Boat Team.She was a long-time member of the Dallas Downriver Club, and most recently member of My Peek Challenge as a Peeker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Rowlett, member of the United Methodist Women’s group and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Sandra was also a member of the Sister’s Fight Club, and the Crafty Quilters, among others. She most recently worked for the Agape Home Health Care in Mesquite, Texas, and she was the Secretary for the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce for many years. She had lasting relationships with co-workers from Blockbuster and Valhi.Sandra had so many friends from her countless civic activities and creative endeavors and her Outlander pen pals. She is dearly loved and will be missed by everyone she touched. Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Wayne Slee, and their dauschand puppies, Cassie and Yeagermeister; her brother-in-law, David Slee and his wife Christine and nephew, Jake Slee. She is survived by her four daughters, Catherine Ann Sullins, JoAnne Norman, Virginia Ann Thomas (Steve), Jeanne Ann Creel (Scott), her honorary daughter, Kimberly Ann Mouse (Gerald); and her niece, Mindy Gibboney Poteet (Bob); six grandchildren, Shawn Sullins, Brandy Wegscheider (David), Marianne Luna Ruiz (Lazario), Alexandra Thomas, Blake Thomas, and Taylor Creel; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Scott, Jenica Wegscheider, Aubrey Wegscheider, Rayvan Luna, Brady Bell, Shelton Luna and David Wegscheider, Jr., all of whom she loved deeply. She is also survived by her “Parsons” second cousins of whom she also cherished. Her dearest friends, Suzanne Greer and Doris Conover whom she thought of as sisters.
