Sally Ruth Ashcraft

Sally Ruth Proctor Ashcraft was born January 16, 1928 to Elizabeth and John Proctor in Wards Creek, Texas.  She was 93 years old when she passed on November 6, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

Sally worked at Southwestern Bell for 41 years; starting as a file clerk and retiring as Director of Yellow Page Operations for the Southwestern Region in 1987.  She was a long-time member of Bobtown Road Baptist Church and served as its treasurer for many years. She was a great lover of all animals, particularly cats, and kept many as pets over the years.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wesley Doyle Ashcraft; her parents John Proctor and Elizabeth Humphries Proctor; two brothers, Blevin Sanders Proctor and Clifton Louis Proctor, Sr.; one sister, Lorene Proctor McCullough; and long-time friends George and Ruth Packwood. 

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Beverly Ann Ashcraft; son-in-law, Bernard Pierre Gilbert; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
