Ruth Stroud

Ruth Stroud was born on September 2, 1923 in Edom, Texas to the late Roy and Irene Wimbish. Ruth died on Saturday, October 9, 2004 in Mesquite, Texas. On September 9, 1939 Ruth Wimbish and Maurice Stroud were married. Maurice preceded her in death on October 17, 1989 after celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary in September.At the time of her death, Ruth was a resident of the Bradfield House in Mesquite. Survivors include daughter, Barbara Brewer of Mesquite, sons Jerry Stroud and wife Loretta of Mesquite, Bill Stroud and wife Anne of Glenpoole, Oklahoma and Bobby Stroud of Mesquite.Her eight grandchildren who lovingly called her "Nannie" are Stacey and Keith Johnson, Susan and Rick Foster, Wendy and Jesse Dye, Robert and Sherri Stroud, Karen and Russ Corby, Grady Harris, Sean and Andy Stroud.She was also called "Nannie" by her twelve great grandchildren, Brad and Sydney Johnson, Jordan and Hunter Foster, Delanie, Dakota, Josh and Holly Dye, Ashley, Lindsey, Brittany and Michael Stroud.She is also survived by two sisters, Juanita Woody of Mesquite and Virginia Lybrand of Bedford and numerous other family members and friends. Services will be 2:00PM Monday, October 11, 2004, at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
