Ruth Ann Pope

POPE, Ruth S. of Terrell, born May 3, 1938, in Linden, Texas, passed away June 29, 2008. Ruth graduated from Marshall High School, and from University of Dallas. She also graduated from St. Paul Nursing School of Dallas. She was an avid golfer, gardening, antiques and music. Preceded in death by husband, James A. Pope; father, Ennis H. Surratt, mother, Lena Belle Surratt; brothers, Vernon M. Surratt, Curtis B. Surratt. Survived by son, Mike Pope of Terrell, TX.; sister, Mattie Lou Brooks & husband, Ben of Marshall, TX., brother, Earl Surratt of Tuscola, TX., sister-in-law, Patricia Surratt of Mabank, TX., sister-in-law, Adelia Surratt of Abilene, TX., number of nieces and nephews, cousins; aunt, Vivian Schuler of Longview, TX. Service will be 10:00AM Wednesday July 2, 2008 at New Hope Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00PM " 8:00PM.
