"Mr. Hernandez was every bit a self made man. He made his mark in this world with the help of no one but himself. A remarkable acheivement considering his obsticles. Ruben married his first and only love in the year of '73, and brought into this world a beautiful daugher on Feb.9, 1979. His priorities in life were changed forever and from that day forward, consisted of providing for his family, and that is exactly what he did....and did it exceptionally well. His household now consisted of two queens, and royality is the manner in which they were treated until the day he left us. Ruben was a man full of life who loved his sports, including the Longhorns and Cowboys. He loved hisdogs (Spankey, Oscar, & Archie). He was very familiar with the kitchen and whipped up his love in the form of breakfast taquitos, enchiladas & his ultimate favorite, bar-b-que. A man of many talents, Ruben perfected his skills from being a prison guard to dedicatimg his services to State Farm Insurance for 16 years. Rube even found time to help his community with his passion of baseball by becoming an umpire for little league. Ruben Hernandez, devoted husband, loving father and admired by those who met him, will be truely missed by all. Those of us who's life he has touched, will forever miss his smile, his kindness and warmeth of his laughter. Big Rube # 44 ........ We love you"
