Roy P. Blair

Roy P. Blair, age 90, of Dennis, MS, passed away June 7, 2020 at his home. He was born April 25, 1930 in Paris, TX to Clarence Preston Blair and Pearl Elaine Fultz Blair. Roy proudly defended his country in the US Marine Corps. He married Val Jean Carlow on April 2, 1955 in Paris, TX. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meadowview in Mesquite, TX for 40 years. Roy retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. Roy was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Blair; brothers, Mickey Joe Blair and , Clarence Lee Blair; sister Dorothy Campbell; and beloved Aunt Lorene Moore. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Val; children, Preston & Melissa Blair of Arlington, Shanda George & husband Jerry of Dennis Mississippi, and Roy & Cindy Blair of Garland; grandchildren, Henry Blair, and Mack Blair, Valerie Britt & Joshua Westmoreland, J Blaine & Whitney Martin, Jared & Elizabeth Blair, Ryan & Rachel Blair, Catherine Blair; great-grandchildren, Max Westmoreland and Heidi Westmoreland; sisters, Betty Lou & Clyde Kirkland of Paris, TX, Joyce Freeman of Paris, Judy & Steve McFadden of Paris, TX; sisters-in-law, Glenda Blair and Sandy Blair; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A gathering of family and friends will take place Saturday morning, June 13, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Meadowview, 4346 N Galloway Ave, Mesquite, TX. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at the church., with his son, Roy B. Blair officiating. Services will conclude at the church (no graveside services). Pallbearers will be J. Blaine Martin, Jared Blair, Ryan Blair, Mack Blair, Josh Westmoreland and Eli Litton. In lieu of flowers donations to Missions program of First Baptist Church of Meadowview.
