Rosa Lillian Hernandez, a cherished member of the Dallas community, passed away on September 24, 2023, in Rowlett, Tx. Born on September 10, 1958, in El Salvador, Rosa was admired for her genuine kindness, unwavering dedication to her family and career, and her numerous hobbies and interests.
Throughout her life, Rosa found fulfillment working in the Dallas Independent School District Nutrition Services. Her commitment to providing nourishment for the students exemplified her selflessness and passion for helping others. Colleagues and students alike were drawn to her warm personality and compassionate nature.
In addition to her professional achievements, Rosa had a deep devotion to her family. She and Jose Domingo Hernandez celebrated 40 years of marriage together—an incredible testament to their enduring love and commitment. Together they raised three children—Cynthia Priscilla and Kodiak Chadwick, Alonso Israel Hernandez, and Maira Hernandez—who brought immense joy and pride into their lives.
Beyond being a loving wife and mother, Rosa possessed a vibrant spirit and pursued various hobbies. She found solace in the art of ceramics and knitting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and attention to detail. Spending time with friends meant the world to Rosa, as she cherished every opportunity to build lasting memories with loved ones. Her culinary skills were renowned among those lucky enough to taste her delicious creations. Rosa was not only passionate about cooking but also had an exceptional talent for planning events and hosting gatherings.
As an active member of Garland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, Rosa demonstrated an unwavering faith that guided both her actions and interactions with others. She poured endless love into serving her church community through volunteering and lending a helping hand whenever needed.
Rosa's proudest accomplishments extended beyond her professional life. She took great pride in raising a nurse daughter as well as a son who became a successful salesman—all while maintaining balance within their home. Together with her husband, Rosa epitomized the elusive American Dream, proof that hard work and determination can lead to a life filled with happiness and fulfillment.
Left to cherish Rosa's memory are her beloved husband, Jose Domingo Hernandez; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Priscilla and Kodiak Chadwick; her son, Alonso Israel Hernandez; her daughter, Maira Hernandez; and her grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia, and Valentina. She also leaves behind her siblings Blanca Berrios, Amanda Celia Castillo, Mario Berrios, as well as numerous aunts, cousins, brothers, and sisters.
Rosa Lillian Hernandez was a beacon of light in the lives she touched. Her warm heart, kind soul, and unwavering dedication to family and community will forever be cherished. May her memory continue to inspire us all to embrace life's joys with open arms and extend love towards others as she did so effortlessly.
Rosa's visitation will take place on September 28, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home - Chapel located at 500 US-80 in Sunnyvale. The funeral service will be held at the Garland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church on September 29th at 2:00 PM located at 809 W. State St., Garland. Following the funeral service, Rosa will be laid to rest at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale during a burial ceremony starting at 3:30 PM.
