Romella W. Stepp was born in Cleora, Oklahoma, on November 10, 1938, and passed from her earthly life into eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 24, 2019, in Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Mel of the home; daughter-in-law, Janet Arrington (David); grandsons, Justin (Angela) and Chad; great-grandsons, Stephen and Michael; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Virgie Walker; her twins, Kay Lynn and Ray Linn; and most recently by her beloved son, Stephen. Romella grew up in Vinita, Oklahoma, where she accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and never wavered in her faith. After graduating from Vinita High School and attending Northeastern Oklahoma State College for two years, where she pledged as a lifetime member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, Romella married the love of her life, Mel Stepp, on May 31, 1958. The marriage was predicted by friends to be short term but instead flew by in sixty-plus years. Mel and Mella–as they were known by friends–traveled in the Dallas and Garland area since 1968 and are long-time members of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church. Although she suffered from many severe illnesses in recent years, Romella never lost her quick wit and sense of humor. She brought laughter and smiles to many who knew her. She will be greatly missed by Mel, her family and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
