Roger Wayne Clark, age 79, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025. He was a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, whose warmth, wisdom, and love of life touched all who knew him.
Roger was born on August 5, 1945, in Terrell, TX, to his parents Lois Ray Clark and Nora Gertrude Bannister Clark, both of whom preceded him in death. He built a successful career as an Insurance Executive at AON, formerly Alexander and Alexander, known for his integrity, work ethic, and deep commitment to his profession. Throughout his career, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Caren Pemberton, whom he married on April 6, 1988. Together they shared a life filled with love and laughter that spanned 36 years. Roger was deeply devoted to his family, and they were the center of his world.
Roger also leaves behind his sister, Lana Gorecke, and her husband, Dwayne Gorecke; his sons, Roger Wayne Clark Jr. and Richard Thad Clark, whom he took great joy in watching grow into successful men and fathers. Roger is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Clark. Roger was proud of his grandchildren: Tara Clark, Jessica Clark, Kenneth KlingClark and his wife Sam KlingClark, Russel Clark, and Robert Clark. He loved spending time with his great-grandchildren: Audrey Isidro, William Phillips, Wyatt Phillips, and Cash Gordon. Roger is also survived by his mother-in-law, Florence Pemberton; his sister-in-law, Lynne Pemberton; his brother-in-law, Charles Coffee; his niece, Victoria Coffee, and her wife, Christina Coffee.
Roger's life was also defined by his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed many peaceful hours spent fishing, playing golf, and reading.
Roger will be remembered for his deep love of family, his kind heart, and the joyful spirit he brought to every room. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
