Dr. Robert Eugene Starr, was born on March 1, 1930 and passed away on November 8, 2014. He is the son of the late Stottler and Grace Starr of Kansas City, MO. Robert graduated from Northeast High School in 1948 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country proud for two years. At the age of 21, Robert received his Chiropractic degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College. During that time, practicing as a Chiropractor, he also worked as a brick layer while paying his way through medical school. In 1965 he graduated from Kansas City Osteopathy and Surgery College and became a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine. He served on numerous hospital boards, was co-owner of the Mid-Cities Hospital, and worked at various hospitals/clinics throughout the country. In November of 2001, Dr. Starr became Chief of Radiology at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center of Shreveport, LA. He held that position until his retirement in March 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia E. Starr of Forney, TX.; Children: Franklin Starr and wife Meghan, Grant (Ned) Starr and wife Christine, Brett Epperson and wife Kimberly, Janice Ballew and fianc Greg Nieman, Marti Tona and husband Chad, Michelle Epperson, and Bart Epperson and wife Tiffany; Grandchildren: Gabriel Flores, Anthony Epperson and Ashley Cater, Sheena Boren and husband Kalen, Lanise Epperson, Alex Meador, Shelby Criswell, Jordan Cookston, Shea White and Remington Wall, Collin Starr, Tony Castor, Olivia Tona, Matthew Epperson, Angelina Nieman, Maddox Epperson and Jeremy Starr; great-grandchildren: Jayden Crumley, Emma Boren, Brandon Miller and Mason Boren.
