Robert (Bob) John Rielly, beloved husband, father, and friend went home to the Lord on March 26, 2018 in Dallas, Texas at the age of 66.He is remembered for his encouraging spirit, driving work ethic, and love for his family.Bob was born on January 12, 1952 in Beaumont, Texas to John and Lillian Rielly.As the oldest of seven – five brothers and one sister – Bob spent his childhood living in Shreveport, Corpus Christi, and Houston. He grew up playing football, baseball, and basketball and was a part of the 1969 State Championship football team for Spring Woods High School.Bob was also an active participant in the Boy Scouts of America where he enjoyed camping and hiking and eventually achieved the highest rank of Eagle Scout.He graduated from Spring Woods High School in Houston in 1970. Bob went on to study petroleum engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and received his degree in 1974.The petroleum business allowed Bob to travel Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. A job with Amoco Productions Company took him to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1976.He became a member of Tulsa Bible Church and served as a youth leader and deacon.It was at TBC where he also met his wife, Cheryl.They were married on July 12, 1980 and were blessed by three sons, Matt, Adam, and Doug. After a couple of brief moves, Bob settled his family in Dallas, Texas in 1988.He continued working as an engineer, was able to coach his sons’ baseball teams, and served as an usher at Woodcreek Church.Bob was working for King Operating Corporation at the time of his passing. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family at Texas Rangers games (along with any Cowboys, Mavericks, or Longhorns tickets he could get).He loved skiing, traveling, and going to the movies.He was an avid runner competing in numerous marathons and making an annual trip back to the Tulsa Run 10K. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Rielly.He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, sons, Matt, Adam, and Doug (& Tara) Rielly.He is also survived by his six siblings: Tom (& Patricia), Paul (& Shawn), Patrick, Kathy Naff (& Phil), Ed (& Alma), and Bill Rielly. “The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” – Deuteronomy 33:27 In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the following organizations: Bible Study Fellowship: https://www.bsfinternational.org/support/give-to-bsf Boy Scouts of America: http://circleten.org/give-now May your faith be strong as a mountain wall, And subtle as the early morning mists.
