Robert Franklin Nicks

Born March 30, 1929 in Okemah, OK, Bob went to be with the Lord at the age of 80 on April 2, 2009. Bob served four years in the United States Air Force as an instructor on jet engine mechanics. He retired after 30 years at LTV Aerospace, where he worked on various projects from missile defense to the space program. After retiring in 1990, he enjoyed flying with the Metro East Remote Control Flying Club, roughing it easy with the Jolly Good Sam Retirees Camping Club and extended travels around the world. Bob always enjoyed spending time with his family and was an active member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church in Mesquite, TX. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma, son Larry & daughter-in-law Pat Nicks, daughters Cheryl Turcotte, Carla Kean, daughter Diana & son-in-law Jody Hill, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 5 from 2:00-4:00pm and services will be on Monday, April 6 at 11:00am at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX.
