Robert Jackson Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5th. He is survived by his loving wife Frances and children David, Darlene, Michael and Bobby. He was proceeded in death by his father Norman Jackson, sister Norma Wilcher, nephews Jimmy and Tim Wilcher, and brother in law Jay Degelia. Robert Norman Jackson Sr. of Mesquite, born March 4, 1947 in Decatur, TXto Norman and Maxie Jackson passed away early Monday morning after a valiant battle with lung cancer while hospitalized and surrounded by his loving family. He was the 2nd eldest of six children; Norma Wilcher of Mesquite (deceased), Ronny Jackson of Wylie (Cindi), Richard Jackson of Mesquite (Heather), Randy Jackson of San Antonio, TX (Barbara), Lori Dodson of Mesquite (Danny). Robert Jackson, Bob, married his soul mate Frances on July 7, 1977 and raised four children David Franklin of Las Vegas, NV, Darlene Floyd of Frisco, TX (Donnie), Michael Franklin of Fargo, ND (LeAnn) and Robert Jackson Jr. ofDallas, TX. He had three grandchildrenBrandon Dodson ofDallas (Lindsey), Trevor Vela of Mesquite andDrew Vela of Frisco. He had one great grandchild Allie Dodson and twenty five nieces and nephews Jimmy Wilcher (deceased), Jayne Duncan of Wylie, Tim Wilcher (deceased), Tracy Webb ofFrisco (Jeff), Tom Jackson of Texarkana (Jennifer), Ashley Jackson of Wylie, Clay Jackson of Wylie, Jennifer Skellenger of Forney (Jeremy), Sara Arnold of Forney (Jason), John Jackson of Mesquite, Matt Jackson of Mesquite, Tori Jackson of Mesquite, Candace Jackson of Mesquite, Hailee Draughon of Mesquite, Luke Draughon of Mesquite,Kristin Jackson of New York, NY, Adam Jackson of San Antonio, TX, Bailey Jackson of San Antonio, TX, Travis Jackson of San Antonio, TX, Ryan Dodson of Mesquite, Melanie Dodson of Mesquite, Austin Dodson of Mesquite, Mary Milsap of Mount Pleasant (Bart), Chris Degelia of Rowlett (Karin), Cathy Murphy of Heath (John) and Tim Degelia of Greenville (Julie). . He had eighteen great nieces and nephews Chis, Rachel, Garrett, Jake, Jackson, Josh, Colin, Cade, Cody, Nina, Lane, Alex, Tanner, Preston, Taylor, Nicolyn, Ava and Callie. Robert also leaves behind his sister in law Teddie Degelia of Rockwall. Bob was an extraordinary man. He was loved and respected by everyone who came in contact with him. His legacy of strength and wisdom will carry on for generations to come. He embodied what is best in a man. He was truly a man of honor. Bob and Frances are a modern day love story.Their nearly 30 year journey together was one of adventure, joy, romance and the deepest enduring commitment to each other. They were truly soul mates and were fortunate enough to find each other in this life. Before Bob left us, he told Frances "Don't worry, I found you in this world, I will find you in the next." For Bob and Frances "Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot for one brief shining moment that was known as Camelot."
