Robert Edward Darling of Mesquite, born December 13, 1952, passed away September 23, 2016. He lived up to the reputation of his name, leading the life of a servant: he was intelligent, extremely handy and selfless; always willing to serve others without considering the cost. Whatever human flaws he might have had were outweighed by the virtues of an obedient son of God. He displayed God's love through his actions towards his family, friends, and strangers. He was a devoted husband to his wife, a loving father to his sons, a joyful grandfather to his granddaughter, a loyal son to his parents, and a true friend to his siblings. He held two bachelors degrees in physics and electrical engineering and enjoyed a long career with the Federal Communications Commission from which he retired in January 2016. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Darling and his wife of 27 years Diana Darling. He is survived by his two sons, Geoffrey and Christopher Darling and his granddaughter Diana Darling; his mother Betty Foreman and step father Ray Foreman; his siblings, Linda Doss, Virginia Saylor, and David Darling and numerous nieces and nephews.
