Ricky Chambers

Ricky Frank Chambers, age 70, passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2024, in Mesquite, TX. He was born on May 4, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to James Frank Chambers and Maudie Smith. He was a devoted husband to Shelley, who he married on August 9, 1975. They had two sons, Brandon and Collin. Ricky was the rock of the family and the life of the party!

Ricky graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas in 1972. He began his career at the age of 13 in the grocery business and enjoyed a later career in the food brokerage industry. He was passionate about his work, loved building relationships, and enjoyed sharing the details about his new products... sometimes a little too much.

Ricky was always working on a project and never stopped. His energy was unmatched. He loved hosting and cooking for friends and family at his home. Ricky would do anything for anyone, always saw the best in people, and always saw the positive in every situation.

He and Shelley were avid cruisers along with their friends, Kathy and Mickey Vick. He was looking forward to an upcoming Caribbean cruise with his friends, and Collin and Amber. He was down to go to the casino at any time and loved gambling with Collin. He was excited about Brandon and Tara's new home and loved every second he got to spend with his grandchildren.

Ricky is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shelley; sons, Brandon and his wife Tara and their 3 children, Gabriel, Briella, and Gavin; and Collin and his wife Amber. He loved the family's standard poodle, Harvey; and Harvey loved him for all the food he would give him.

In addition, Ricky is survived by one sister, Sandy Shepperd; and 5 other siblings in Arkansas; along with countless extended family, friends, and coworkers that all meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maudie Chambers; and Shelley's parents, Thomas and Virginia Hill ("Badad" and "Nina").

Ricky will be missed forever and the void he left will always be felt.
