Rick passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 2:00 a.m.He was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 9, 1953. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Paula; sons, John and "Little" Ricky; granddaughters, Emily and Sarah; mother, Velma Knight; and sisters, Brenda Toub, and Wanda McKenna and their families.Preceded in death by his father, Harold;brother, Raymond; and nephew, Lee Edward. He worked as a self-employed contractor for the Dallas Morning News for 25 years.Rick loved to go deer hunting, but even more than the hunt, he just loved to be with his family at the deer lease. He shot more pictures and movies than he did deer.He made the best BBQ ribs in town.He loved NASCAR, dirt bike racing in his younger days, fishing with his dad and brother, playing softball and spending time with his precious granddaughters. He loved his family dearly, as they did him. While in the hospital, he talked about going to Alabama to visit his family there and sitting at Aunt Louise's table one more time to eat her fresh vegetables and tomato soup. He had many friends and family who loved him.He was far too young to die and he had a lot of plans for his twilight years with his beloved wife, but God had another plan.We know he is in Heaven now having the time of his life with his dad, brother, nephew and grandma. We will all miss him and pray that he is finally at peace. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.
